Independence Day Activities in the Puget Sound 2017

Fireworks in the city

Looking for something to do in Seattle on the Fourth of July? There are plenty of Independence Day activities planned around the Puget Sound! Rain or shine the Emerald City will be celebrating with picnics, fireworks, concerts, parades, and more.

Seafair Summer Fourth The all-day Seafair Summer Fourth is a Seattle classic. If your family has endurance, this is the show to attend! Starting at noon at Gas Works Park, the 25-year old festivities will include food, All-American activities, games, and more! As night falls a spectacular firework show will begin over Lake Union. July 4th, noon-10:30pm

Red, White & Zoo For those that have to work on the Fourth, the Woodland Park Zoo is beginning Independence Day festivities early! On July 1st and 2nd the Zoo will be throwing a Fourth of July picnic. The Zoo animals will be fed star-shaped popsicles and watermelon for the delight of the picnic-ers to watch! The event is free with zoo admission. July 1st-2nd, 10am-10:30pm

Celebrate Kirkland!: Parade, Picnic, & Fireworks For those on the Eastside, join the fun at Kirkland’s Annual 4th of July Celebration at Marina Park. The full-day of festivities will include a late morning parade, live music, food vendors, and an amazing fireworks display at Marina Park. Bike decorating, face painting, and hat-making begins at 10 a.m. at the Marina Park Pavilion. Pets are encouraged, so put an American Flag bandana on your pooch and bring him along! July 4th, 10am-10:30pm

Bothell Freedom Festival Start your day of celebrations off with a free pancake breakfast at the Bothell Downtown Firehouse at 8:30am. The classic Children’s Parade and Grand Parade along Main St. in Bothell then begins at 11:15am. Make sure to sport red, white and blue attire and be ready for plenty of candy to be thrown your way! Because of the construction in Downtown Bothell, there will be a new route this year (but the same old-fashioned fun!). July 4, 8:30 am–1 pm

Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival
The Wooden Boat Festival is a Seattle classic, with 2017 being its 41st year! The water-front festival has partnered with Seafair again this year. Starting at 10 a.m., you’ll get to see stunning wooden vessels, watch skill demonstration by regional boat builders, and go on a free boat ride. There will also be plenty of food vendors, local live music, boat exhibits, and kids’ activities. This year’s event takes place at the wharf, which means you can secure a phenomenal spot for viewing the Lake Union Seafair Firework show in the evening! July 4, 10 am-3:30 pm (also July 1-3 from 10 am-6 pm).

We hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday!
